BF524 - BF525 memory architecture differences causing SW crashes

I am migrating from a BF524 based design to BF525. Running the same code on the BF525 causes very odd behaviour with what appears to be memory corruption. The two configurations are BF524 + 64MB SDRAM and BF525 + 32MB SDRAM. If I compile a smaller build and run just from internal SRAM I don't see any issues on the BF525, its only with larger builds that runs out of SDRAM. The linker file is the same for both builds. I should say the larger build is ~500Kbytes.

Can anyone suggest what might be causing the problems?
