ADSP-21479 SPORT Frame Sync

Hi,

I am using an ADSP-21479 that has SPORT 0 frame sync routed to pin DAI_P04 as follows:

SRU(SPORT0_FS_O, DAI_PB04_I);

SRU(SPORT0_FS_PBEN_O, DAI_PBEN04_I);

I have the control register configured as follows (active high frame sync):

SPCTL0 = SPTRAN | SLEN32 | FSR | IFS | BHD

I do not plan on enabling the SPORT until I am ready to transmit data.  I was expecting to see pin DAI_P04 being driven low since the frame sync is not active yet because there is no transfer in progress but instead I see the pin high.

Is the frame sync pin (DAI_P04) only going to be driven when the SPORT is enabled?  If the SPORT is not enabled does the pin float?

Thanks,

Pam
