I am trying to power up the AD9910. However the status LED is not glowing and the board does not power up. Can someone help me and explin as to why it is not powering.
So you are controlling the evaluation board externally via an FPGA? The schematics for the board can explain why the LEDs are not lit. This is all on page 2. The LEDs CR1 and CR2 are shown in the upper left (section D1). CR1 is turned on by the voltage from the USB which you aren't using for external control. CR2 is controlled by the STATUS line which comes from logic buffer U12 in the bottom center (between section A2 and A3) which in turn is driven from Cypress chip pin 82. U12 should be disabled for external control which is why CR2 should not be lit or blinking either.
Which LED isn't lighting up and what are you applying to the board for power? You'll need to apply power to all of the 1.8v, 3.3v, and GND terminals on the lower portion of the board. See figure below from the AD9910/PCBZ User's Guide.
I think there are only 2 LEDs on the board just to the lower left of the power supply connections. One is labeled VBUS and the other STATUS. VBUS I think lights up if there is just power from the USB. STATUS I believe blinks when communications are fine between the board and the eval software. If VBUS isn't lighting up, maybe you are running your laptop off of battery power? With my laptop if I run off of battery power it doesn't power the USB ports. I just have to plug in it's AC adaptor for it to work.
Initially I had connected to the FPGA and it would glow. But suddenly it does not glow anymore and also no waveform is being produced.
