Impedance Matching Resistors for Digital Lines

On page 112 in the schematics for the BF548 EZ Kit at:

There 33 Ohm impedance matching resistors between the processor and the DDR memory. There are no such resistors between the processor and the flash memory on page 113. I need to know why they are needed for the DDR and on the Flash.

 

I will connector an AD7606 A to D converter to the processor's PPI port and use DMA to store data from it. I am wondering about the necessity for these impedance matching resistors on this connection's digital lines.
