I am considering using the AD9516-1 evaluation board as a dedicated DAC clock generator for my RF testbench. The target application is evaluation of Wifi (802.11n) modules in the 2.4-6GHz range. The IQ DAC clock rate is 200MHz (we are using AD9779A). What kind of frequency reference would be suitable to achieve the extremely low phase noise and jitter advertised in the datasheet? Could we just use the 10MHz ref out from other lab bench equipment to serve as the reference (for instance: Agilent N9020A spectrum analyzer)? If not, please suggest another suitable (preferably low-cost) source.
