BMODE setting problem

I have a custom board, the processor is BF531. The BMODE[0:1] is set to 00. But whenever I switching on the board and connected to VisualDSP++, there would be a Core fault appears immediately:
Core fault detected before halt at address: 0x0A80A1FA.  Attempting to reset processor.
Core fault detected before halt at address: 0x20000012.

As I have seen some solutions inhttp://ez.analog.com/message/4631, I thought this problem may be the Boot Mode. I have erased external flash, should I change the BMODE setting to 01? Is this the only way to solve this problem?

There is one more question, if I want to boot form external flash, I should download the .dxe into flash first. My question is: should I switch the BMODE to 01 when I program flash?
