I am a bit new to the micro-controller world so I was wondering if any of you could help me in realizing my project.
I want to build a specific sound recorder. By sound I mean 24bit- 52kHz (minimum) audio in order to perform some signal treatment.
The idea is to either store raw audio signal, or sound pressure level (every second), or both.
I know I will need 24bit ADCs (delta-sigma seem to be the ones mostly used).
Should I go for a "at-least" 52kHz sample rate or should I aim at a higher sample rate ?
Will i need a "sample and hold" device or is it integrated with the ADC ?
Can a micro controller be powerful enough to calculate sound pressure level every second (20*log(Peff/P0)) ? for all 33 third octave frequency band ?
Do you have any microcontroller in mind that could suite this project ?
I am not shure I gave all the informations one need to answer my questions, but tell me if I missed any.
