what is the output level of the DAC in the ad9912,the DAC output directly can be amplified and then can be filtered or it should be filtered first and then amplify and after amplification one more filter can be used?
The output of the DDS in addition to your required frequency component, contains other frequency components including aliasing products and its harmonics whose the amplitude levels may be comparable to the required component. It is better to first filter the output and then follow it up with the amplifier stage. A properly designed filter before the amp is sufficient and if required a simple LPF may be included after the amp to reduce the harmonics generated in the amp.
Regarding the output level of the DAC in AD9912 , I have practically seen that the level is about -4dBm, but then I am using the differential output of the DAC and using a transformer to get a single-ended output.
thanks for the reply sir
As you said the output level of ad9912 -4dBm is measured at the dac output(differential ) or after tramsformer(single ended)?
After the transformer..
