I am performing polar modulation and am following the instruction in the RAM Loader document which says:
RAM Destination: POLAR
Polar is a combination of both amplitude and phase. Hence, a polar word is a 30-bit word consisting of a 16-bit phase word combined with a 14-bit amplitude word. Calculate the 16-bit phase word as defined by the formula for WP16 above. Calculate the 14-bit amplitude word as defined by the formula for WP14 above. Now create the 32-bit RAM word as follows:
2^16×WP16 + 2^2×WP14
Is the multiplication factor 2^2 for the 14 bit amplitude word or 2^14? A clarification would be very helpful.
