SigmaStudio for SHARC 21489 slave boot SPI issue, ADUSB2Z

Hello,

ADSP 21489 operating normally with ICE1000 JTAG, we have been struggling getting SigmaStudio for SHARC communicate with the DSP (Danville dspblok OEM board).

It seems communication must be done via the SPI port in slave boot mode.

We have used the ADUSB2Z USB to SPI adapter.

DPI1 - MOSI

DPI2 - MISO

DPI3 - SCK

DPI4 - SS#

GND - GND

DSP boot configuration is 000 (SPI slave)

DSP clock is 25MHz

SigmaStudio identifies the ADUSB2Z. We reset the SHARC. From SigmaStudio we choose the "ss_app_sh489.ldr" loader file, then select Boot Target. SigmaStudio mentions that data was sent. When analyzing the SPI bus, CLK period is over 3us, significant data is sent over MOSI, but the DSP never returns anything over MISO. As per Sigma Studio getting started guide, DPI3, 13, 14, 21, 22 should change state to inform about Download, Start, Error, etc... But nothing changes.

SigmaStudio is supposed to communicate this way with the ADSP-21489 EZ-kit... We checked that the links were as with the EZ-kit from the ADUSB2Z connector pins to the DSP pins.

Any hint welcome. Thank you.
