Use of internal AD9361 Transmit / DDS for Gain Step Calibration as "external" single tone source?

Hi,

I would like to perform the AD9361 Gain Step Calibration as described in UG-570 but I currently don't have access to a signal generator.  If I have the RF port select chosen for A_BALANCED is there any reason why I can't use the internal Transmit / DDS to generate my 1.0 MHz single (CW) tone @ -3 dBFS?

Also, if I'm only interested in using the Rx1A input do I also need to inject this "external" tone on the Rx1B and Rx1C inputs at the same time when performing this calibration?  Or should the Rx1B and Rx1C inputs be terminated?

Also, during when executing the Rx Gain Step Calibration procedure by setting 0x016, bit 3 high, how long should it take 0x016, bit 3 to clear?  I'm running the AD9361 from a 40 MHz clock source.

Any feedback would be appreciated.
