we have the following scenario here in our lab: two ZedBoards, each with its own FMCOMMS3 board. One acts as a transmitter, the other as receiver. We hook both ZedBoards up to out 1 Gbps Ethernet Network and try to connect to them from two separate PCs running Windows 7 64-bit. The IIO software on both the ZedBoards and the PCs is the newest. All four parts (2x ZB, 2x PC) have fixed IP addresses. We connect to the boards using their IP address. The IIO Osc. on the PCs sometimes finds the boards, sometimes not. In case each PC finds its ZedBoard, one of them gets disconnected arbitrarily.
My first question: is this behavior reproducible from PCs with Ubuntu? In case not, this means there is a bug in the windows osc.exe.... and then I'd give it a try and install ubuntu on the machines that control the zedboards.
