Hi,

I would like to use AD5206.

So, I have a question. Please help me.

Question:

In the data sheet, there are two description of the rated values for Ia, Ib, Iw.

One is defined as "Continuous 10 kΩ End-to-End Resistance ± 11 mA" in the Absolute Maximum Ratings section.

The other point is as follows on page 13.

「Regardless of which setting the part is operating in,

care should be taken to limit the current between Terminal A to Terminal B, Wiper W to Terminal A,

and Wiper W to Terminal B, to the maximum continuous current of ±5.65 mA(10 kΩ) or ±1.35 mA(50 kΩ and 100 kΩ) or pulse current of ±20 mA.」

Based on the two descriptions,

when using in the range of ± 5.65 mA to ± 11 mA, there is a possibility of breakdown or deterioration,

so we think that it is basically necessary to use 5.65 mA or less when using the 10 kΩ resistor We will.

The two definitions are not mistakes,
are my ideas above correct?

Best Regards,

Naohisa.
