The voltage of Vcontrol pin does not have to be same as that of VIN pin?
I'll use LT3080 on condition that IN=2.5V, Vcontrol=3.3V, OUT=1.8V. Any problem?

VCONTROL and IN can be separate voltages on the LT3080. In most cases, the LT3080 can do IN=2.5V and VCONTROL=3.3V to 1.8VOUT. According to the datasheet Electrical Characteristics table, the VCONTROL Dropout Voltage Max. is 1.6V, so 1.6V from VCONTROL to OUT is best if the output current is around 1.1A (worst case).
The Ripple Rejection graphs in the Typical Performance Characteristics portion of the LT3080 datasheet are taken with 2V from VCONTROL to OUT and 1V from IN to OUT, so the ripple rejection of the LT3080 is best if there is around 2V from VCONTROL to OUT and 1V from IN to OUT.
