With the ADSP21371 processor it is possible to generate a loader file without kernel but it is not possible with ADSP21587.
In the current version of our hardware (with the ADSP21371) up to 9 DSP boards are connected to an ARM processor via a shared memory. All the DSPs boot from a small serial EEPROM containing a boot loader (that we have developed from the AnalogDevice PROM loader source) using the "SPI PROM 371" kernel. Our boot loader load program from the shared memory (filled by the ARM processor, the DSP binary program files are saved into a SD-CARD connected to the ARM processor). For the new design of our system we want to replace ADSP21371 board with a new one's using ADSP21587 and we want, if possible, use the same boot mode.
Is it possible to generate a ldr file for ADSP21587 without "kernel" ?
