ADXL375 with 3200 ODR

Hi Everyone,

 

I am working on ADXL375 with ODR = 3200Hz. I using 2 Mhz SPI to read the X, Y and Z axis data after setting FIFO (multiple byte read). My settings are as follows,

 

Register -> Data

0x2C -> 0x0F

0x38 -> 0x90   

0x2F -> 0xF9   

0x2E-> 0x00  

0x31-> 0x0B   

0x2D -> 0x08

 

My X, Y and Z axis raw data is varying from -4096 to 4095 counts (approx.). I am calculating the Resultant = sqrt(X*X + Y*Y + Z*Z).

But even if I give a small tap to the sensor PCB using a pencil, my resultant is crossing 4000 counts approx. Is this expected ?

Assume I am holding the sensor board 5 cm above my table and dropping it. What should be the maximum resultant force I should expect ?

Outcomes
