AD9910 - Create arbitrary waveform

I am trying to generate an arbitrary waveform with the AD9910 on a custom board. I have succeeded in outputting amplitude and frequency (RAM) modulated sine signals, but not an arbitrary signal itself. Instead of the intended waveform, I get continuously zero voltage with periodic spikes (with the period as programmed for my signal) where the spike voltage sometimes is positive, sometimes negative.

I have programmed the chip as follows:

- OSK disabled

- RAM enabled with

    - mode: continuous recirculate

    - destination: amplitude

- frequency FTW: zero

- phase POW: zero

- phase accumulator autoclear enabled

Thanks for any help!
