Power supply for the ADAU1701-MINI evaluation board

I'm connecting a USB audio device that outputs I2S (the Texas Instruments PCM2707C) to the ADAU1701 (the evaluation board).  I have a simple SigmaStudio project that routes directly.  I connect my headphones, and sound is there.

However, when I unplug the USB cable from the USBi and power the ADAU1701 board with a 5V power supply (through connector J2), sound goes away.  I have written the compiled binary to E2PROM, and in fact, it does work even if I do not have SigmaStudio open.

The LED (I guess D3) does light up when I plug the power supply to J2.

Anything else I need to do?  Unplug the header that comes from the USBi?  Jumpers J3, J1?
