Reverse bias SOA

Question asked by Electron108 on Mar 26, 2018

I am using the AD9665 laser diode driver to generate a 300mA drive current out of LD1 (pins 21 &22) for a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA).  The SOA sinks the current to ground.  When the current is disabled, the SOA manufacturers recommend the SOA is reverse biased with 2-2.5V to ensure the SOA is off.  There is no information on the data sheet in the absolute maximum ratings section regarding pins 21 and 22.  Being a current output do you think a -2.5V bias would damage the AD9665?
