Hi, I have a simple question.
If I change Virtex 4 to Virtex 5 in HSC-ADC-EVALCZ board, does USB driver work as before change?
As shown in the Fig 13 schematic of the HSC-ADC-EVALCZ user guide http://www.analog.com/media/en/technical-documentation/evaluation-documentation/265181843HSC_ADC_EVALC.pdf the Cypress USB Controller has electrical connections to both the Virtex4 FPGA, and the connected Converter Eval Brd under test. Both the FPGA and Converter under test are communicated with, and controlled using the Evaluation Software. This USB handshaking interaction is coded into the driver and FPGA configuration for this specific hardware combination. It is highly unlikely the same USB Driver/FPGA Code would work as-is, without modifications if used with a different FPGA such as your proposed Virtex5.
ADI does not offer support for customer modification of our existing Evaluation Hardware Platforms or Software.
We do not have any high speed data converter capture cards based on the Virtex5 FPGA. The next capture brd (HSC-ADC-EVALEZ) in our portfolio skipped ahead from the Virtex4 to the Virtex6. The EVALEZ uses a Blackfin USB controller that does require a different USB driver from the older HSC-ADC-EVALCZ.
Is the USB driver does not affected to USB chip? Just only FPGA?
Sorry about deleting mark correct.
