I'm using Fast AGC in ad9364 and I don't understand how to come up with a overload threshold number for ADC overload. I thought the purpose of AGC is to maintain a constant power at ADC's input. In reference manual, it is mention that ADC is a oversampled Delta sigma modulator with output frequent +4 or -4 during overloading. Is the output contains step values like -4,-3.... upto +4?
If I'm maintaining a constant -12dBFS signal in front of ADC, then I won't face overload( if I set Nsamples as 4 and threshold as 4^2 + 4^2 + 4^2 + 4^2 =64) and the ADC detector sum up the squares of sample, which is a sort of power measurement, is it right?
