We are having trouble getting FFT's from the ACE ADC capture software. We are using an AD9689-2000 eval board with the ADS7-V2 capture board. The resulting screen shot is shown in the attachment. Any help is appreciated.
We just got it working by switching out the REFCLK signal generator to another one. Thanks for your time.
Are you providing a valid REFCLK to the FPGA? This should be connected to J3 of the ADS7-V2 capture board. can you also please let me know what the status of the LEDs are on the ADS7-V2 when you try to capture data?

Yes, we do have a valid REFCLK: its reference is tied to the ADCCLK. The ADC is at 1333MHz, and the REF is at 333.25MHz. LED's 1-4 are on, and 5-6 are off. Thanks for your help.
If 5-6 are off then that means that the FPGA's CDR is not capturing any data. this could be because the FPGA is not getting a REFCLK. Can you try increasing the power of the REFCLK generator to see if the FPGA can recover?
Another thing to note is that the J3 connector on the FPGA board is not mechanically very stable. if you torque it too much, it may cause the trace to come loose. You may want to put a scope probe and probe the signal to the clock buffer on ADS7-V2.
Yes, there is a signal at J3. I probed it, and even increased the level a few dB. No matter what we try, we cannot get LED 5 or 6 to come on. We even tried higher frequencies, 2GHz for ADC and 500MHz for REF.
Can you please send me a picture of the setup that shows all the connections?
