Where are the VDDB and the VIB pins connected to when the circuit B is not used? (only use the high side curcuit)
Both of them should be connected to GND or be open?
Kazu: The ADuM6132 was designed for an application where the VDDB would be used, so you need to provide +15V at the pin for the normal operation of VISO output, as shown in Table 11 of the datasheet. VDDL at 5V, and VDD at 5V are also required. If you don't use the VIB it can be connected to GND.
One more question. Regarding gate drive current for IGBT, I think it is about 20mA (Iiso-Idda) using a buffer circuit like Figure 16 in ADuM6132 datasheet. However maximum peak current from the VOH is 200mA for less than 1s
and it is enough to drive IGBT since its gate is capacitive.
Can I design a gate current to IGBT larger by connecting the VOH pin directly to IGBT without the buffer circuit?
You can use the ADuM6132 VOA output to deliver 200mA peak current for up to 1 sec for driving the gate of an IGBT. If you need more peak current than 200mA to drive the gate of the IGBT, then you should use the buffer transistor circuit like figure 16 of the datasheet.
