There is no such a thing as an "ideal" sampling interval or frequency. Once you respect Nyquist theorem regarding your BW of interest, you should not have any problem. For example, in ADE9000 the waveform buffer has a fixed data rate (32ksps or 8ksps) so your sampling frequency should be a unit fraction of this value
