hello,

currently i'm writing on my own uclinux char dev driver and want to use memory mapping.

to understand principles i wanted to test the mmap test provided with the kernel. i compiled mmap test into the kernel and modprobe the module. i also did the mknod to get /dev/simple.

but if i start the userspace program as it is in the doc (http://docs.blackfin.uclinux.org/doku.php?id=mmap&s[]=mmap) suggested, it fails with error output: failed to mmap device: no such device or directory

i used the code example 2 in the doc

as i noticed (with printk statements) the drivers mmap routine isn't called...

can anybody help me getting mmap to run? do i have to change something into kernel config?

thank you for your help

greets

peter
