I have an EVAL-AD9833SDZ and an SDP-B setup as per the User Guide. I installed the software included with the board and get the following error:
One last thing.. Did you try to connect the board in the other connector?
No idea but lets try to fix it!
What is your operating system?
What is the software revision?
What boards are you using? I mean rev numbers.
The OS is Windows 7 64-bit SP1. The software version at the top says AD9833 Rev0 and the LabVIEW version is 11.0.1f2 (32-bit).
The SDP-B rev is 1.3 and the EVAL-AD9833SDZ rev is 0.
Could you download the latest GUI and check if the problem is fixed?
I installed the version you linked. I'm still getting the same error.
Apologies for the delay, Im not getting the email alerts correctly.
where did you but you EVB? was thru an external vendor, that is not directly thru ADI?
We purchased it through an external vendor, Arrow.
Im not sure the problem...
Is the SDP board detected on the device manager?
Another thing you can do, just to make sure the SDP is not damage, Could you download ACE, and execute the tool, and check if the led in teh SDP flash?
Remember to close the AD9833 GUI during this test.

Yes, the SDP board shows up on Device Manager:
I installed ACE and it detects the board:
And yes, the LED flashes successfully.
Apologies for the delay replying the question.
The SDP seems functional... and as you can imagine, the same board and software has been shipped for really long time, and it is the first time that I get this feedback.
When the error is generated? After double click in the GUI icon?
Or the GUI loads, and you change something?
Lets do two things,
Monday I'll double check the software, just in case.
In parallel, Could you let me your address (private message), and I'll send a new board?
When I start the GUI I now get a Hardware Select Screen:
And I can see the LED on the SDP blinking.
But the GUI only shows this:
I don't see the Digital Interface portion of the GUI where I can select connectors.
How do I send you a private message? I don't see an option anywhere.
Looks like your GUI is working now... when the first pop-up windows appears, click on select.
After that, just press reset bit in the GUI twice, and select an output frequency.
The GUI comes up, but things still aren't working. It freezes at "Waiting for transfer to SDP..." once I enter an output frequency.
I also bought another SDP and AD9833 eval board. They're doing the same thing. I also tried it on a different computer. Same thing is happening:
I double check the GUI and I cannot replicate same issue..
Could you confirm how are connected the switches is your board?
A picture will be nice..
Additionally, could you use a different USB cable to connect the SDP with the computer...
Here is a picture of the two SDP boards and AD9833 boards I purchased. Only one is connected to the PC:
Also notice there are two USB cords. I tried both cords, in different ports, and no luck. Here is a close up of the two boards that are connected:
The GUI still hangs at "Waiting for transfer to SDP..."
Yep, that was it... it works now with Connector A.
