BF506F: How to select ''Additional Use'' pins

I like to use General Purpose counters on BF506F. Therefore I like to know how to select ''Additional Use'' pin assigment.

I read the following on the Hardware Referense Manual Page9-4 but I still do not understand.


Port F consists of 16 pins, referred to as PF0 to PF15, as shown in
Table 9-1. All the input signals in the “Additional Use” column are
enabled by their module only, regardless of the state of the PORTx_MUX and
PORTx_FER registers.


Could you please help me?
