I am looking to power a opamp +5V and -5V from a single positive supply.
Do they make such a IC?
I been checking digi-key and haven't found anything yet.
One of the simplest solutions is to use a regulated charge pump, such as the LTC1983ES6-5#PBF solution. It will provide you a -5V rail from a +5V rail and all it requires are three small ceramic capacitors. There is even a demo board available - the DC482A - for qualified customers.
Hope this helps!
James R. Staley.
Sounds great, I like the small part count.
No problem, Greg!
As an aside, since I'm not sure of the details of your application (output swing, etc.), make sure to pay attention to the applications section of the datasheet regarding output ripple concerns when choosing Cout and Cfly. Hope you have a great day, and thanx for choosing Power by Linear.
You may also want to check ADP5070, ADP5071 or LT8471. Can produce dual positive and negative outputs from a single positive supply. Thanks!
