How to measure VDD_MCU current using and external power source?

Hi,

 

I am trying to measure MCU current consumption in HIBERNATE mode on a EV-COG-AD4050LZ board using a separate power supply. A 3.0V voltage is applied between VDD_MCU (TH2, pin 2) and GND (TH3, pin 3). When running the "rtc alarm" example, the measured current is ~15uA. According to the datasheet, I am expecting something around 1.32uA (RTC1 enabled, 124 KB SRAM retained, LFOSC as source for RTC1) at 3.0V. Also, the code doesn't appear to be running when the USB cable is disconnected (i.e. no USB 5V).

What am I doing wrong?

How can I measure VDD_MCU current using and external power source?

Do I need to make any modifications to the board?
