On the ADV7511, using 0xD5 in the main map, it is possible to produce a black image at the output.
Is is possible to change this to another color?
I don't think so... that ability is only on the RXs/Decoders as far as I can tell.
you are correct. The product apps team has informed me that there are no controls to change the color.
Update: The color space converter on the ADV7511 can be used to change the flat color output, using these steps:
- Do not set 0xD5
- Set the CSC coefficients to 0
- Set the CSC offsets to give the flat-field color of interest
- Enable the CSC
Experimenting with these bits, I found the following behavior, with the CSC disabled.
0xD5 = Black Image Enable
0 = Black Image Disabled, 1 = Black Image Enabled
0x16 = ‘Output Color Space Selection Used for Black Image and Range Clipping’
0 = RGB, 1 = YCbCr
0xD5 = 1, 0x16 = 0 -> RGB, gives bright green screen
0xD5 = 1, 0x16 = 1 -> YCbCr, gives black screen
