AD9910 Initialization

When updating registers in the AD9910 it requires pulsing I/O UPDATE to transfer the data from the input buffer to the register with the update occurring on the next rising edge of SYNC_CLK after I/O UPDATE goes high. SYCN_CLK is SYSCLK/4 but when the part is first powered the PLL is disabled so there is no SYSCLK or SYNC_CLK. It appears the only way to initialize the part is by loading the input buffer and then toggling one of the PROFILE[2:0] bits, which should cause an I/O UPDATE. Is this correct and is there another option for initializing the part?
