Question
I have compared the AD595 and the AD597, and the AD597 seems to have a better
precision (+-1°C) than the AD597 (+-4°C). Can you tell me why? Economical
reason? Technological reason?
Do you have any solution to get a better precision, please. For example making
my thermocouple conditioner with an instrumentation amplifier whose reference
pin will be connected to a temperature sensor.
Answer
The AD595 and AD597 are laser trimmed. Trimming to a higher precision takes
longer and therefore costs more.
Today we get better precision by converting to digital at an early stage using
our Sigma Delta Industrial ADCs like AD7793. They also have the advantage of
filtering out a lot of the noise.
