Question:
As per MAX30001 datasheet, the AFE could also be used to measure hydration. Customers want to understand how this could be achieved using MAX30001? Do they need external analog sensor?
Answer:
This is referring to the bioimpedance (BioZ) channel and using it to measure the absolute impedance of either surface impedance or deep tissue impedance to give an indication of hydration. It would be done with either wet or dry electrodes. There would need to be some algorithm work done on the customer's design to interpret the data.
