Question
When can a customer use the 270nA Wakeup mode vs. the full power 2uA mode?
Answer
The 270 nA wake-up mode is a limited bandwidth mode of operation in which
acceleration is measure 6 times per second. This mode is ideal for applications
looking for simple motion detection at extremely low power budgets. For
example, a motion switch for a hand-held device is an ideal application for
this mode: the accelerometer has to be on all the time (requirement: lowest
power) looking for a gross change in acceleration (limited bandwidth is
enough).
If signal integrity of wider bandwidth signals is required, the full power mode
should be used.
