ADXL362 Target Applications

Question

What are the target applications for the ADXL362?

Answer

Accelerometers find their way into an endless variety of applications. For the
ADXL362, we are looking for applications with these two requirements:
(1) Low power is KEY. Usually this means a battery needs to last for months or
even years. These are not applications where the device can be charged every
night.
(2) Motion is KEY, and the accelerometer needs to be on all or a lot of the
time.
These are applications where the ultralow power consumption becomes an
important value proposition.

We have seen such applications in the healthcare market: for example, activity
monitoring watches, man-down detection apparatus, and portable medical
monitors. We’ve also seen some industrial applications like security fences,
theft protection for water meters, and remotely located wireless sensors. These
are all applications in which motion is key, and where it is impractical,
impossible or dangerous to change or recharge batteries frequently.

This is by no means an exhaustive list. Please let us know what applications
you find!
