Q: I have many DS1923 iButtons, and would like to set them to begin logging at six in the morning on the next day. How do I manage this simultaneous setup? The official software is only able to set up one unit, but if all units are delayed by 100min, then the final result will not be simultaneous recording, but simply one unit starting at a time. Is there any way to solve this?
A:
Strictly speaking, multiple DS1923 are unable to achieve strict simultaneous sampling, since it is necessary to set them up one by one. On the other hand, designating time delay is based on minutes, so it is only able to guarantee that the sampling margin of error is less than 1 minute.
When setting up multiple units of the DS1923, for example, the first being set up with a 100min delay. If the third and first unit's setup time has a difference of over 1 minute, then the delay time for the third unit will need to be revised to 99mins, and so forth. This will enable the measurement timing of each unit to be within a margin of error of 1 minute.
