The temperatures reported by the LTC2983 are reported in °C or °F???

Hi all,

I am using the LTC2983 to measure the temperature, when I read the data from the registers, I don't know the result in °C or °F,

in the datasheet, it says that "the final temperatures reported by the LTC2983 are reported in °C or °F",

My question is the output in °C or °F ? What determines the unit? Looking forward to your reply, thank you!

Best wishes,

Eric

    Hi Eric,

You can choose by setting bit 3 in the global configuration register (memory address 0x0F0) for F. The part powers up in degrees C.

This is the same register where you would set the power line frequency for rejection. The power-on default is to reject both 50 and 60Hz.

Page 59 of the LTC2983 datasheet has more information on the global configuration register.

Additionally, the demo software includes the capability to generate C code, compatible with the Linduino and Arduino which includes a header file with all the registers defined in human readable format.

    Hope it helps,
