Q
one customer would like to use AD8156 as a N:1 multiplexer. Since the datasheet
said that each output can be disabled. He would like to know whether the can
connect the outputs together and only enable one output channel at one time to
implement the multiplexer function.
Or do we have multiplexer for him to select? He needs 6Gbps.
A
In general, it is not possible to connect multiple outputs together as drawn at
these datarates. That being said, a single AD8156 can be configured as a 4:1
multiplexer. Another device to consider is the AD8158.

More importantly, both the AD8156 and AD8158 do not support the OOB signaling
feature. If this feature is required then unfortunately we cannot support it.
