I am designing a small, battery operated device and am using a high-side load switch to isolate the battery during the charge process. I originally used the ADP198 in the design, but I need greater current capacity. I used the device in its diode OR-ing configuration wherein the voltage at the output side is greater than the input side (when a charge voltage is present) thereby opening the switch.
I've identified the ADP196 as a suitable replacement with regard to current capacity and control voltages. The datasheet does not indicate the behavior of the device when the output voltage is greater than the input voltage.
Specifically, what does the ADP196 device do when VOUT > VIN?
Thanks,
J
