I2C port expansion

Can an analog mux (such as the ADG759) be used to reliably mux I2C signals?  Will this negatively affect the timing of this digital protocol?

    Hello Komo,

The ADG759 will add resistance to the channel and additional capacitance. You need to take this into account when designing your signal chain.

Your pull-up resistors should not pull-up to a voltage higher than the supply of the ADG759 and you should ensure that if there is any current flow it is limited to a value that the ADG759 can handle.

Otherwise, there should not be an issue using these devices.

    Regards,

    Sean
