ADV3202 - cropped video signals

Hello everybody,

I have a problem using the ADV3202. All output video signals are cropped at about 900 mV in a manner, that no sync is transmitted. VPOS is connected to +5 V, VNEG is connected to GND, VREF is supplied with 2.5 V and VCLAMP is connected to GND as well. (I tried several connections for VCLAMP and VREF, but neither worked)

Attached I have a snippet of the schematic and a sample of input and output video signal.

Can you please give me a hint to solve this problem? Thanks in advance.

  • Hi, Daniel.

Can you please measure the voltage in the VREF pin? From your circuit, this is 5V (contradicting your signal name of VA2P5) thus exceeds the absolute maximum VREF input voltage range of VPOS - 3.5V to VNEG + 3.5V.

If your measurement is really 5V, please remove the EMI filter bead and see if this removes the clamping.

    Regards,

    Anna
