AD8156 and ADN4612 in HDMI application

Can I use AD8156 and ADN4612 in HDMI 2.0 applications. They want to know whether these switches will work with HDMI 2.0 protocol. Thread 36599 on ADI’s Engineer Zone states “The ADN4612 is an asynchronous, protocol agnostic crosspoint switch, which means it can support any protocol (assuming NRZ modulated)”.

I have searched and cannot tell whether HDMI is NRZ modulated. Can you please confirm whether AD8156 and ADN4612 can natively switch HDMI 2.0.

Thanks,

  • Hi Jarod,

As a follow-up to the above question, what circuitry would you advise to actually interface the HDMI inputs and HDMI outputs to the crosspoint switch since the electrical characteristics are not the same?  Or is there a way to configure the crosspoint to be compatible with the TMDS?

    Thanks
