Clarification on ADN4605ABPZ Crosspoint Switch capabilities

Category: Hardware
Product Number: ADN4605

Dear Team,

We are planning to use the ADN4605ABPZ cross point switch in our design and would like to confirm a few details regarding its functionality.

Q1) Could you please confirm whether the ADN4605ABPZ supports routing a single input to two or more output channels simultaneously?

Q2) Additionally we would like to know if the device can handle different data rates in different channels?

Q3) Whether data rate of output can be configured based on the output requirements(Similar to Ethernet switch port configuration)?

We appreciate your support and look forward to your response.

Regards,

Jegadeeshwaran S.

  • Hi,  ,

can help you with this request.

  • Hi  ,

Thank you for your interest in ADN4605. Here are my answers to your questions:

Q1) Could you please confirm whether the ADN4605ABPZ supports routing a single input to two or more output channels simultaneously?

    • Yes, the ADN4605 switch core is a fully nonblocking array that allows multicast and broadcast configurations. The Switch Core section of the datasheet (p. 27) provides details on how to accomplish this.

Q2) Additionally we would like to know if the device can handle different data rates in different channels?
    • Yes, the device is an asynchronous and protocol-agnostic digital switch which means each of its channels can support any data rate independently as long as it is in NRZ binary format and that it is within the DC to 4.25-Gbps operating range.

Q3) Whether data rate of output can be configured based on the output requirements(Similar to Ethernet switch port configuration)?

    • Unfortunately, the ADN4605 cannot be used to configure the output data rate. It only provides control of the absolute output level and the pre-emphasis output level. Kindly refer to the Transmitters section of the datasheet (p. 29-31) for further information.
