DG387A: About treatment of NC pin

Question

Hi, 
 Our customer is using DG387A on old product of themself. 
 He found one point that he cannot make a decision which connection is OK or not. 
 Concretely, it was input 5V to pin#7(NC pin). 
 Is it no problem? 
 I think it is no problem because NC pin is not connected to chip inside mold (it meaning no bonding wire inside).

It's generally not recommended to connect any voltage to the NC (No Connect) pins of the DG387A. These pins are typically not connected internally and are left floating. Connecting a voltage to these pins could potentially cause unexpected behavior. Could you please explain the specific reason for needing to connect 5V to the NC pin of the DG387A? Would it be possible to leave it unconnected instead?
