Max14661 Daisy Chaining

Question

We'd like to implement an SPI daisy chain as shown in Figure 19 of the data sheet. Can DOUT be connected directly to DIN as shown or is a pullup needed on that line? 
 And can the SPI/I2C and SD lines be directly connected to the supply? For the SPI/I2C line, Table 6 in the evaluation board data sheet states "Install pullup to VCC to enter SPI mode". I see pullup and think resistor but should it read jumper?

Hi NormS, 
 Yes, In the Daisy chain, DOUT is directly connected to DIN, Think of this as a Shift register configuration. 
 You can tie SPI/I2C (Serial Mode Select ) and SD (active-low shutdown pin) to VCC for SPI mode.
