ADG1414 questions

Thread Summary

The user seeks an 8xSPST analog switch for a product, requiring 5.5V to 15V power and 1.8V logic level control. The ADG1414 is not recommended due to incompatibility with 1.8V logic. The ADGS1414D and ADGS5414 (9V minimum supply) are suggested alternatives, with the MAX14662 (5.5V max supply) also being a viable option. The ADG1414's IDD of 1uA is specified regardless of switch state, but the ADGS1414D has higher IDD and a larger footprint.

 Hello,

We need a  8xSPST analog switch for our product. The part needs to be powered from 5.5V to 15V and will be driven by 1.8V microcontroller, with the possibility of VL=3V. Board space and power consumption are the main constraints.

Checking the options, we thought that ADG1414 could be a good candidate for that, so we have a few questions:

- This part is listed as "Production", but not "Recommended for new designs". Is there any plan for obsolescence? We would use for at least 5 years.

- Regarding power requirements, the datasheet says the maximum Idd is 1uA @13.2V (page 5), however there's no mention to the switches state. Similar parts like ADGS1414D specify IDD per closed switch, but this is not the case for the ADG1414. Can we consider this IDD of 1uA as maximum, regardless of the switches state, as long as we follow the same test conditions (digital inputs = 0 or VL)?

- Besides ADG1414 and ADGS1414D (which is bigger and has higher IDD), do you have any other parts that could be suitable?

Best regards
