Multiplexer for Thermocouple-to-Digital Converter

Hi,

I’m looking for an analog switch/multiplexer to read 8 thermocouple channels with the Microchip MCP9600 thermocouple to digital converter. I’m already using the ADG714 in a variable gain amplifier on my PCB, so it’d be very convenient to order a 2nd one for multiplexing the thermocouple input. 

Before I do so I wanted to check on this forum: is the ADG714 good for multiplexing thermocouples, or would a different Analog Devices switch do a better job?

    Hi Collin,

    Looking at our product portfolio, ADG714 would be the best option in an 8 x SPST, single supply 5V range / dual supply ±2.5V switch application.

    There is also an ADG1414, that could be suitable for your application (8 x SPST) and has a wider voltage supply range (±15V, +12V), but has a larger Ron compared to the ADG714.

    Therefore I think the ADG714 you have selected is the right choice.
