Inquiry on Power-Off Protection function of ADG5436F

Hello,

I would like to inquire about the power-off protection function of the analog switch being designed.

The problem product was ADG1636, and a warning light(12V power supplied) was turned on while the switch supply voltage 12V was not supplied. (Power-off)

The confirmed symptom is leakage through the switch (ADG1636) signal path, so ADG5436F, a product supporting the power-off protection function was recommended.

However, ADG5436F also has the same symptoms and I ask you to review the power-off protection function.

    Hi,

    The ADG5436F has got fault protection in both the power on and power off conditions. However this is only on the source pins. It looks from your diagram that you are providing 12 V to the drain pins with the power off.

    Do you require this 1:2 de-mux configuration? and do you require protection only on one side of the switch or both sides?

    Another option would be to use the ADG5412F, this could be externally configured as a mux using the source side as the protected side.

    we need 2:1 de-mux switching and the warning light signal path is need protection.

    Can you please explain in more detail about the ADG5412F solution that was guided by another option?

    Does it mean to use ADG5412F + ADG5436F together for protection?

    Hi,

    No you should not require the ADG5412F & the ADG5436F. If you use the ADG5412F you could externally wire the together the S1 & S2 pins to create a 2:1 de mux.
