I have selected ADG715 for switching the UART(Tx,Rx) signals. We selected this IC to switch TX,RX signals between the microcontroller and PC. I want to know would that switch provide the effective switching speed for serial communication?

Hi Mohsin,
Apologies of the delay in answering your question.
When you ask what switch would provide the effective switching speed for serial communication ?
Are you referring to:
Or
Please let me know your thoughts.,

Thanks Kevin for the reply. Yes my question related to:

Hi Mohsin,
Good morning,
On my side, I'm finding it hard to get a defined frequency range on Rx and Tx, it also depends on the USB generation.
The serial connection you will be using, will the Tx/Rx signal be in the GHz range ?
The bandwidth of the ADG715 IC is 155 MHz, therefore any frequency > 155 MHz will be attenuated if passed through the ADG715 switch.
The ADG772 is designed to as a general purpose switch that can be routed for USB 2.0 signals, however you are limited to two channels. If it is a USB 2.0 serial connection you are using ?Would it be possible to provide some more details on this ? See link below:
Please let me know your thoughts ?
Kevin
What is the baud rate of the serial communication you are using ?
Kevin
Thanks for the reply.
The baud rate of the Serial communication is 115200 bps. So, the transfer rate is 8.6ms, which is less than 1MHz frequency. so , it would work in this frequency range as the bandwidth of the ADG715 IC is 155 MHz.
Is this the correct calculation for selecting the switch?
