Device that is capable of translating i/o level of 1.8/3.3v to 3.3v.


I'm looking for a device that is capable of translating 1.8/3.3v to 3.3v.

The problem is, the circuit should be able to determine the i/o level and choose the supply voltage for translation.

    I'm looking into this. In the meantime, I would need the information below:

    • Do you mean up-translation (1.8V to 3.3V) only? Or both up (1.8V to 3.3V) and down (3.3V to 1.8V) translation?
    • What signals are you trying to translate? Serial or parallel logic?
    • Can you share your block diagram/schematic so we can assess the solution or workaround?

    Thanks for the quick response.

    The information you need is as follows:

    1. I need unidirectional translation from a signal line which may either have 1.8 or 3.3v logic level (both needs to be supported ).

    2. Hot plug detect signal of display port. I'm not using the power supply pin from the display port.

    Hi ppp777,

    Are the signals to be translated?

    • SPI or I2C?
    • parallel lines?

    Would you want to have up translation only? See sample below.

    • 1.8V to 3.3V
    • 3.3V to 3.3V

    What will be the load/connected to the output pins of the signal translated?

    • others: please specify
